İstanbul from space

Here's a satellite-photograph showing the Black Sea (the large whitish expanse in the upper right) and the Sea of Marmara (in the lower left). The thin ribbon connecting the two is the Bosporus. Everything on the left side of that ribbon is Europe; everything on the right side is Asia.

Just off the Asian coast near the southern opening of the Bosporus are some faint smudges. Those are the Princes' Islands and we live on the one just left of the longish smudge.
